The Giants capitalized after a Brian Westbrook funbled and Manning connected with Toomer and Burress on consecutive plays to give the Giants a 13-10 lead.
The Giants and Amani Toomer were once again the benefactor challenge by the opposition. Toomer was ruled down by contact after a catch, and since Philadelphia and its fans do nothing but complain when things don’t go their way, Andy Reid foolishly challenged the call. Go Giants.

Giants D stepped up big and let the Giants get the ball back. A good punt return and a nice drive by the offense led to a Tynes field goal. Good guys trail 7-6 and will get the ball to start the second half. Close games in Philly are tough to win – let’s hope the Giants can come out and score a TD and change the tempo of this game.

Brian Westbrook 7
New York Giants 0
The Eagles marched right down the field on the opening drive to gain a 7-0 lead over the Giants, whose luster was lacking, so to speak, to open the game defensively.
Westbrook is averaging over 10 yards every time he touches the ball.

Mathematically, the Giants can’t clinch a playoff spot with a win today over the Eagles but a 9-4 record going into the final three weeks of the season will all but wrap up a wildcard spot, pending a New York Mets-like collapse.
The Giants are very injured today. Gibril Wilson and James Butler are out with injuries and Antonio Pierce and PLaxico Burress are heavily banged up.
Conversely the Eagles will have both Donovan McNabb & Giant-killer Brian Westbrook back in the lineup today.

I’m pumped the Giants scored and are up, but shouldn’t they have kneeled a few times to run the clock out, then kick the field goal as time expired instead of going for the touchdown right away?
Interesting call…Giants D will have to step up big here…

After another controversial call the Giants are back in the game trailing 16-14. We’ll need Rex Grossman to pull an Eli Manning here and throw a pick so the Giants can get the ball back with a chance to win.
Gulp.

In two weeks the Giants have gone from playoff contender to absolute pretender. Same old Giants?
